Grahame Lowe is a fellow photographer and friend. His distinctive style and expertise has been developed over many years of shooting exclusively black & white film and hand-printing his work in his darkroom at his Castleton (North-Yorkshire) based gallery. Although work is made using a variety of camera equipment, Graham is becoming increasingly well known for experimenting with hand-made, customised and toy cameras which adds to the atmospheric imagery that only Graham can make. see more of his work please visit website you can also see and purchase his work from Profile Gallery & Sitting Room
Grahame’s work is immense and spans over 50 years! Some of his most popular photographs are his rock musicians taken at Redcar Jazz Club. He has also hand printed some of his documentary photography taken in the 60′s and 70′s

So my original idea was to shoot outside down in the beautiful Saltburn Woods. I kept positive that the rain would not turn up and the sun would show its face alas the weather did not agree and as the week went on the weather forecast worsened and worsened to which point I had to admit defeat. So the night before we had to rack our brains for an alternative location indoors. A quick phone call to a friend who is a trustee of the wonderful local theatre and plans were made for the shoot.
Beautiful cloths and props were kindly lent to us from Northern Lights Interiors, La vie de Robe and Eliza’s.
Our wonderful Vintage fair, Saturday 17th September from 14:00, will show case the regions top supliers of all things quirky, handmade, pre-loved, vintage and vintage inspired pieces held under the beautiful Victorian Station Square arches of Saltburn-by-the-sea.
For anyone that knows or has visited us at The Sitting Room - Profile Gallery we love all things vintage. Thats why we decided and with a little encourgement and help from friends to organise our first Vintage Fair - ‘For the love of Vintage’.
This is a sneak peek from our shoot.
